About S8 Ministries

After achieving some success in the business world, I found myself more unfulfilled than I had prior to attaining some of the trappings that it brought.  I felt as Solomon did, that pursuits focused on this world were all vanity, routed in envy and that my attempt to achieve fulfillment through my accomplishments was like trying to catch the wind.  As I diligently and genuinely sought the Lord for the purpose he had for me, the good works that he prepared in eternity past for me to complete, He opened the door for me to begin serving Rockingham County Schools as a multi-sport chaplain. 

Over the past 9 years, the Lord has opened the door to serve as the chaplain for 6 different teams, to facilitate 3 different Bible studies for student-athletes, and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to hundreds upon hundreds of students.  What began as a simple pre-game devotion for 2 football teams has grown into a full-time role in which I am speaking or facilitating 5 to 6 nights per week and weekly one-on-one discipleship and mentorship sessions with student-athletes.  Over this time I have learned that our children will be most influenced by those who spend the most time with them and offer them the most affirmation.  It is my sincere endeavor to show each student-athlete how much I genuinely care for them by investing my time and resources into them personally and affirming them at every opportunity so that in turn they will care about what I say when I share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.  All that truly matters for us all in this life is first, what we do with Jesus personally, and second, what we do to serve Jesus in building his kingdom.  For we are always with him or against him, we are always actively helping to build his kingdom or actively helping to tear it down.
